East Cork Junior A Hurling Championship QF Erins Own 2-14 St Ita’s 3-16
Midleton was the venue for this junior hurling championship clash against St Ita’s, the day was dry but there was a strong wind blowing which we chose to play against in the first half, Cathal Heavy opened the scoring for Erins Own with a goal in the first five minutes, Peter Kelly hit three fine points from play & one from a free before the break, the on form James O Carroll put over two & Diarmuid O Flynn & Ian O Mahony both adding a point each, Ita’s were hurling well & went in at the break a point up, Erins Own 1-08 St Ita’s 2-06, the second half saw Peter Kelly hitting another four points (3 form frees 1 from play) James O Carroll was still hurling well adding a goal & a point & Kevin Fenton hitting a point but wasn’t enough to stop Ita’s who were the better side on the day, to be fare to Erins Own Stephen Horgan, Andrew Power & James Carr were a big loss & if all 3 were available it might have been a different result, all the best to St Ita’s. Diarmuid O Flynn, Peter Kelly, Paul Fenton & James O Carroll played well.
