Erins Own opened this years senior Hurling championship with a win over Killeagh on a damp night in Midleton, Mossie Carroll opened the scoring with a point, Robbie Flynn fired over 3 from play, Andrew power pointed, Eoghan Murphy put over 2 from frees & James O Flynn hit the net to give us a lead at half time of 1-07 to 0-06, Killeagh were reduced to 14 men due to a late strike on Shane Murphy, Robbie O Flynn put over another 2 fine points and Eoghan Murphy added another 2 points 1 from play & 1 from a free, but Killeagh were still very much in this game with 10 minutes to go a point separated the sides, Kieran Murphy stepped up & fired over 2 nice points & in the last minute of the game Eoghan Murphy put over a point from a penalty to give Erins Own a win by 4 points, Robbie O Flynn, Shane Murphy & Mossie Carroll Played well for Erins Own
